Second Annual “ROAD TO FAME”

Six-Week Vocal Contest to Award a Trip for Two to LA for a Live Gig at “Rush Street” Lounge

(CHICAGO) – On Wednesday, November 4, hundreds will still audition…thousands will still vote… one will win the Second Annual ROAD TO FAME at Mahoney’s Pub & Grille!  It’s an open call for Chicagoland’s best singers on Wednesday, November 4, Wednesday and November 11 from 8pm to 11pm where vocalists will belt it out, a cappella, in front of a Chicago-studded panel of judges. 

Three judges at each round over the six week contest will include one of the following: Editor-in-Chief of Michigan Avenue Magazine [ www.michiganavemag.com ], Susanna Negovan; Fox Chicago’s [WFLD-TV], entertainment reporter [ www.myfoxchicago.com ], David Viggiano; and Chicago-based music producer and owner of Slang Music Group [ www.slangmusicgroup.com ], Vince Lawrence. 

These judges will select singers to advance to the semi-finals on Wednesday, November 18 and Wednesday, November 25.  Audience participation and voting by text will then allow those semi-finalists to become finalists on Wednesday, December 2 with everything hinging on Wednesday, December 9, where one winner will be crowned. 

The grand prize winner of Road to Fame will receive round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for two in Los Angeles, California, along with $500 spending cash.  Once in LA, the winner will perform a live gig in January 2010 at a local club appropriately called Rush Street [ www.rushstreetsculvercity.com ], after the famed Chicago Rush Street, where even more casting agents, talent scouts and record company A&R representatives will be watching.
