Streeter’s Shows off Chicago’s Rich Bar Trick Heritage and It’s Tricky!

(CHICAGO, IL) – Streeter’s Tavern located at 50 East Chicago Avenue in Chicago, has been a staple of the Mag Mile shopping scene for decades. Weary walkers from all over the globe trot down the staircase and visit what has been dubbed “The Greatest Bar Below Earth”, and they often leave a little nugget of wisdom behind… The bar trick!

On Sunday, September 6, from 8pm to 11pm, Streeter’s invites the all of Chicagoland to join them for “It’s Tricky!” – a celebration and demonstration of bar tricks, bad jokes and light magic.

“We have books full of them, but the best ones are always the tricks taught to you by customers,” said Matt Bolser, Streeter’s Manager. “It’s interesting to see what new methods for old favorites are floating about and I am always impressed by the sheer number of new tricks that I see!” The Bar Trick has become a celebrated tradition at the tavern, so they decided to make an evening of it.

The entire staff will take turns demonstrating their signature trick after which the customers will get to vote on whose trick they thought was best. Customers are also encouraged to show off their own tricks, new and old, and stump the knowledgeable Streeter’s staff will be rewarded with Cubs Tickets and other cool prizes!

The night will feature $16 domestic buckets of beer and $3.85 Nachos Supreme, courtesy of Downtown Dogs. All the staff performances will be filmed that evening and posted online as how-to videos.  Be a part of Bar Trick history at It’s Tricky at Streeter’s Tavern.  Bet on it!
