“Ass’09” at the Second City
(CHICAGO, IL) – Asses are everywhere! Pardon the political pun, but we’re not just talking about the Democrats’ stronghold this year. From the Kanye’s outburst to the skunk peeping on Erin Andrews, dimwits abound. Hello Glenn Beck; Hi Rod Blagojevich; How’s it going Jon and Kate Plus Eight? We thought the cream was supposed to rise to the top, not the crap! The audacity to hope for change this year wasn’t supposed to be about the eighteen cents Patrick Kane would beat up a cabbie over. Between the foolishness at Burr Oak Cemetery and absurd parking meter hikes, things just keep getting worse. Looking back, there must be a joke to be had, because these times certainly feel Asinine. Or Ass’09, if you will.
Creepy Hug’s ninth sketch show is a high-energy revue that satirizes and parodies the stories, people and events of the past twelve months. Ass’09 comes from the Creepy Hug comedy team that met in the Second City Writing program in 2003.
Ass’09: The Year in Revue appears for a 4 week run in Donny’s Skybox Theatre at The Second City in Piper’s Alley on Fridays at from November 20 – December 18 (No show 12/11).
Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 for students with ID and $6 for Second City students.
